How to Make a Tequila Espresso Martini (With Eterno Cristalino)
The espresso martini doesn't need vodka to work — it needs contrast: something spirited against the bitterness of espresso, something smooth enough not to fight the coffee. Eterno Cristalino, extra-filtered for a clean, ultra-smooth finish, does that better than vodka ever could, because it actually brings flavor to the glass instead of just alcohol.

Method
1. Brew a fresh shot of espresso and let it cool for a minute or two — pouring it hot into the shaker will melt your ice too fast and water down the drink.
2. Add the Eterno Cristalino, coffee liqueur, piloncillo syrup, and cooled espresso to a shaker with ice.
3. Shake hard for 15–20 seconds — an espresso martini needs a proper shake to build that signature foam layer on top.
4. Double-strain into a chilled coupe glass.
5. Garnish with 3 coffee beans, resting on the foam.
Ingredients
- 45ml Centinela Eterno Cristalino
- 30ml fresh espresso (pulled and cooled slightly)
- 40ml coffee liqueur
- 10–15ml piloncillo syrup (or simple syrup, if piloncillo isn't on hand)
- 3 coffee beans, for garnish
Why Cristalino specifically: Standard blanco can taste sharp against espresso's bitterness. Reposado or añejo can overpower it with oak. Cristalino is filtered after aging to strip color while keeping the smoothness that aging built — clean enough to let the coffee lead, smooth enough to stand up to it.
Piloncillo syrup (unrefined Mexican cane sugar, simmered with water until dissolved) adds a slight molasses note that plays well with the coffee liqueur — worth the extra step if you can find it.
